This has got me thinking about our own country and the gender inequalities that exist today. This article made a year ago from Journalists Resource stated that women earned "as little as 77 cents for every dollar that men earn for equivalent work." That statistic appalls me not purely because of the fact that I am a female but because of the fact that gender itself is not looked upon the same in the workplace. The same hard work is put forth, but women are not paid for the hard work. Some state governments throughout our country also prohibit women the right to use contraceptives or have abortions. I don't believe any one person should have to right to say that a woman shouldn't have a right to birth control or not. There is a similarity found in Brave New World specifically about allowing a women the right to have a child of their own or not allowing them a choice at all.
What are your thoughts on women's inequalities in Brave New World?

I agree with you wholeheartedly. The fact that women work just as hard as women, or harder, with no reward is dumb. I personally think that Huxley wrote the book this way because he wanted the men to feel superior.
