This week's work includes reading Francine Prose, "I Know Why the Caged Bird Can't Read," James Baldwin "A Talk to Teachers," Sherman Alexie "Superman and Me," and Margaret Talbot "Best in Class." Please complete a SOAPS analysis of Prose; the other texts require a 4-sentence summary each. Finally, in "pods" of 2-3, complete Grammar as Rhetoric and Style: Appositives, Exercises 1-5. This work should be completed in your notebooks. Neatly!
January 15: Day Three: We're now working in Chapter 5 and applying concepts from Chapters 1-3 to the texts.
14: Day Two - finishing up Chapter 4; starting review notes for the first four chapters
